Lộc Rừng

Vietnam has been an origin I’ve wanted to spend more time with, and Lộc Rừng felt like the right place to start. A lot of what they’re doing is centered around experimentation, co-ferments, carbonic maceration, and their own fermentation methods. All while working with coffee grown in Đưng K’nớ.

That experimental side is what pulled me in. This lot is a peach co-ferment built around the varietal Catimor. Peach shows up first, followed by rose and this almost schnapps-like character as the cup cools.

I like coffees that make me stop and ask questions, and this one does that. It feels like a small look at what’s possible in Vietnam when curiosity, processing, and good coffee all meet in the same place.
